Nomination period closes May 25
Nominate an outstanding Fire Corps program for the 2012 Fire Corps Award of Excellence. Sponsored by the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) and Fire Protection Publications (FPP), this award honors a Fire Corps program whose remarkable achievements in the fire and emergency services and the community exemplify outstanding performance.
Nominations must be received by the Fire Corps national office no later than Friday, May 25, 2012.
The winning program will receive travel and accommodations for up to three representatives to attend the award presentation at the Fire Corps National Advisory Committee meeting in the greater Washington, DC, area in September, a personalized award for the program and recognition certificates and t-shirts for each member, program profiled on the Fire Corps web site and other publications, and a place in Fire Corps history.

The mission of IFSTA is to identify areas of need for training materials and foster the development and validation of training materials for the fire service and related areas. IFSTA is an association of fire service personnel who are dedicated to upgrading firefighting techniques and safety through training.
FPP, a department of Oklahoma State University, is the headquarters for IFSTA. Fire Protection Publications’ primary function is to publish and disseminate training manuals as proposed and validated by IFSTA.
Hernando County Fire Corps won the 2011 Award of Excellence.
